Palak (Spinach) Paratha

Ingredients

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp jeera powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1 cup chopped spinach
salt to taste
ghee as required

Method

Blanch spinach in boiling water & puree it.

Mix the wheat flour with salt & spices. Add the spinach puree & warm water (if required) to knead into a soft dough.


Divide into lemon sized balls. Roll one ball at a time on a lightly floured surface, spread some ghee on one side. Roll with your hands like a cigar & make it into the shape of a coil.

Press it down with the palm of your hand & roll it to the size of a chappathi.


Cook on a hot griddle, spreading some ghee on both sides. Cook till both the sides are toasted.

Serve with yoghurt & dal.
