1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp almond extract
1 cup candied fruit
Cream together butter & sugar. Add eggs, one at a time & beat well till fluffy. Mix in the almond extract.
Sift together flour, baking powder & cocoa.
Fold this into the wet mixture.
Dust the candied fruit with 1 tsp flour. Fold this into the cake batter.
Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
Bake in 325F pre-heated oven for 25-30 mins.
Cool the cake on a wire rack & cut into thick slices.
