Ari Kondattam ( Rice Vattal )

Ingredients

2 cups rice
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp jeera (cumin)
salt to taste

Method

Cook the rice with 5 cups water till the rice is mushy. Mash the cooked rice well with a ladle or the back of a spoon.
Add chilli powder, jeera & salt to taste. Mix well.
Put the mashed mixture into a murukku press with a star disc. Squeeze the mixture thru the murukku press onto a greased sheet of aluminium foil or a thin cloth.



Sun dry for 5-7 days till the vattals are completely dry.
Store it in an airtight container & deep fry whenever required.
