Aloo Tikki ( Indian style Potato Patty )


2 boiled potatoes (peeled)

1 slice of bread

1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

3-4 green chillies (chopped)

a bunch of coriander leaves (chopped)

1 tsp lemon juice

salt to taste


Mash the boiled potatoes.

Soak the slice of bread in some water for 5 mins. Squeeze out extra water. Mash well & add to the mashed potatoes. Add chopped green chillies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, lemon juice & salt to taste & mix well.

Shape into patties.

Heat 1 tsp oil in a tawa/griddle. Place the patties on the griddle. Flip to cook till both sides of the patty are golden brown.

Serve hot with tomato ketchup as a tea-time snack.
